UK & Ireland will host UEFA Euro 2028

Euro 2024 will take place in Germany
Turkey's withdrawal from the contest to host UEFA Euro 2028 bodes well for the UK and Ireland's ambition. On October 10, a statement will be released.
Turkey had previously been the sole bidder to challenge the UK and Ireland, however, UEFA has given Turkey the go-ahead to bid beside Italy as co-hosts for the 2032 edition of the competition. They have decided not to run for the Euro 2028 after that proposal was approved.
All five of the UK and Ireland's countries are expected to participate in the activities, which will be staged in 10 stadiums in England (London, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham), Wales (Cardiff), Scotland (Glasgow), Ireland (Dublin), and Northern Ireland (Belfast).
The Euro 2028 men's international event will be the initial men's international competition wholly staged in the UK after Euro 1996 took place in England. Still, the Euro 2020 final was dispersed within Europe and the semifinals and final were played at Wembley.
Turkey formally withdrew its bid to host Euro 2028, leading UEFA to all but confirm that the UK and Ireland will take the reins.
Euro 2028 statement
"Further to the announcement on 28 July which revealed the desire of the Italian and Turkish FAs to submit a joint bid to stage UEFA EURO 2032, the UEFA administration has today written to both associations to confirm that their joint bid has been duly received and will go forward for assessment and consideration by the UEFA Executive Committee," a statement from UEFA read.
"As indicated by the FA of Türkiye with its submission of the request for a joint bid, their bid to stage UEFA EURO 2028 is consequently withdrawn.
"The award of both tournaments still requires the approval of the Executive Committee at its meeting in Nyon on 10 October.
The presentations at that meeting will be an important part of the process which will take due consideration of the content of the bid submissions before reaching a decision."
