Victor Osimhen has been linked with an exit from Napoli

According to Victor Osimhen of Napoli, if given the "same conditions," he would prefer to play in the Major League Soccer (MLS) instead of the Saudi Pro League.

This summer, Osimhen, 24, reportedly received a generous offer from Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, but Napoli apparently turned it down.

When asked which league, under the same circumstances, he would want to play in, Osimhen replied:

"I am happy at Napoli," Osimhen said in a Twitch interview with Emiliano Viviano and former Italy forward Mario Balotelli.

"People don't know how difficult it is to play in Serie A. From a tactical and physical point of view, it's one of the most difficult leagues to play in."

"If I had the same conditions, I would go to MLS."

"They are trying to develop their league, which is good," Osimhen said.

"One [Ronaldo] of the greatest of all time has gone there. Because of his [Ronaldo's] influence, they have attracted a lot of talented players to also go there. So for me it's really good, they are trying to build their league into one of the best. For me they are doing something amazing."

Osimhen did give the Saudi Pro League some credit, though.

The Saudi league has drawn some of the biggest stars in sports after Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in January. These players include Brazilian striker Neymar Jr. and 2022 Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema.

Nearly $1 billion was spent by Saudi clubs last summer to acquire 94 foreign players from top leagues in Europe.

Osimhen hasn't decided what to do with his life yet. The Nigerian international's current contract expires in June 2025, but despite months of ongoing negotiations, he has not yet signed a new one.

Napoli is still optimistic that Osimhen will agree to a new deal.
