Gokulam Kerala displayed a far better performance than their previous game.
After a disappointing defeat in the first game to Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan, Gokulam Kerala managed to salvage a 1-1 draw against Hualien FC of Chinese Tapei in the AFC Women’s Club Championship 2023 group stage match held at Chonburi Stadium.
The opening goal of the match was scored by Sumati Kumari of Gokulam Kerala in the 18th minute, allowing them to take an early lead. However, in the 42nd minute, Lin Jing-xuan of Hualien FC found the back of the net, equalising the score. This proved to be the final goal of the game.
In the 62nd minute, Jhuo Li-Shan of the Chinese Taipei team was shown a red card, posing a setback for their squad. Nevertheless, Gokulam Kerala were unable to capitalize on this advantage and failed to secure a goal to find their first win in the championship.
