AIFF bags AFC President’s Recognition Award for Grassroots Football “Bronze” category
AIFF first lifted this award in 2014.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has been honored with the AFC President’s Recognition Award for Grassroots Football in the Bronze Category at the prestigious AFC Annual Awards in Doha on October 31. The accolade was collected by AIFF chief, Kalyan Chaubey, who attended the ceremony in the capital city of Qatar.
This was the second Grassroots Football award for All India Football Federation, as the first one was bagged in 2014. The mentioned achievement exemplifies AIFF’s dedication to fostering football at the grassroots level, which is characterized by a multitude of pioneering initiatives.
Various notable endeavors have been undertaken as part of this commitment, encompassing initiatives such as the AIFF Blue Cubs program, Blue Cubs Coaching Courses, Blue Cubs Leagues, Blue Cubs Football Schools, AIFF Grassroots Awards, AIFF Institutional League for Non-Professional Entities, AIFF Project Diamond and numerous other grassroots projects.
On the momentous occasion, AIFF President Mr. Kalyan Chaubey expressed his deep regards to the Grassroots Committee and also assured about further working on it for development of football in India. He said, “It is a good achievement for Indian Football and with this recognition from AFC, we are further motivated to do our best to impact the development of grassroots football in India. Our Grassroots Committee deserves much appreciation. Our aim and focus has always been to develop football from the grassroots level across the country and the result is there for everyone to see.”
AIFF’s Secretary General Shaji Prabhakaran also took to Twitter (X) to congratulate each and every person who were part of this achievement. He mentioned, “AFC President’s Recognition Award for Grassroots Football “Bronze” category. Many congratulations to each of our stakeholders for their selfless work in growing our grassroots landscape. It is just the beginning. We will climb to win the Diamond Award.”
In the other major awards, Saudi Arabia’s Salem Al-Dawsari clinched the men’s player of the year and Samantha Kerr of Australia bagged the women’s player of the year.
