The I-League is progressing swiftly towards the mid season. Each passing week witnesses an improvement in the performance of the teams, particularly those positioned at the lower end of the standings. Amidst the array of players, Indian talents are showcasing exceptional performances, effectively maintaining their prominence in the matches.

Mohammedan SC has ascended to the summit of the table, boasting an impressive record of five victories and a draw. Not far behind, Sreenidi Deccan currently occupies the second position, closely trailed by Gokulam Kerala, who faced their first defeat in the league last week.

In this article, we will take a look at the players who have made it to teams of the fifth week banking on their respective performances.

GK – Albino  Gomes (Sreenidi Deccan)

Sreenidi Deccan displayed a commanding performance in their previous match against TRAU. Despite TRAU having limited opportunities to launch offensive plays, Albino exhibited composure and made the correct decisions to thwart the few attacks from the opponents, ultimately concluding the match with a clean sheet.

RB – Bijoy Varghese (Inter Kashi)

Bijoy played a crucial role in Inter Kashi’s second victory in the league. Despite Churchill Brothers taking the lead in the first half, Bijoy elevated his performance and effectively neutralized every subsequent attack, ensuring his team’s dominance for the remainder of the match. His exceptional contribution silenced the opposition and contributed significantly to his team’s success.

CB – Daniel Goncalves (Shillong Lajong)

Goncalves has proven to be a key player for Shillong, providing strong defensive support. He displayed his skills and impact during their recent match against Gokulam Kerala FC, where he not only contributed to the team’s performance but also managed to score a goal for his side.

CB – Alaaeldin Nasr Eissa Elmagrdby (Delhi FC)

Nasr has been Delhi’s most experienced player in defense. He not only efficiently handles the opposition’s attacks but also offers invaluable strategic insights during the matches, which helps to maintain the momentum in their favor.

LB – Jagdeep Singh (Sreenidi Deccan)

Jagdeep Singh exhibited not only exceptional defensive skills but also actively contributed to the team’s offensive plays, resulting in two remarkable goal conversions for his side.

RW – Gaurav Rawat (Delhi FC)

The young lad from Uttarakhand provided Delhi with an early advantage in the match by scoring two consecutive goals within the initial 25 minutes of play. This also contributed in maintaining pressure on Aizawl FC, who could only manage to score one goal in response to Delhi’s five goals.

LW – Bikash Singh Sagolsem (Mohammedan SC)

Bikash capitalized on a fortuitous opportunity to successfully score a goal with a header during the initial half of the match. This accomplishment noticeably bolstered his morale, as evidenced by his relentless performance throughout the remainder of the game without any signs of fatigue.
