Ratings: Six-goal thriller sees Punjab FC, Bengaluru FC split points

Bengaluru FC are now five games without a win, meanwhile Punjab FC await their first victory in ISL.
Bengaluru FC and Punjab FC fought in a gripping battle that ended in an incredible 3-3 tie on Gameweek 8 of the Indian Super League (ISL), leaving supporters on the edge of their seats. The first half of the match was incredibly intense, with both sides showcasing their attacking skills and striking the net five times.
The second half was just as captivating, with Javi Hernandez scoring the much-needed equalizer for Bengaluru FC, thanks to a vital assist from Sunil Chhetri. In a thrilling game of football, both teams shared the points as the exciting match came to a close.

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu – 6.5
During the initial part of the game, Gurpreet’s resolve and abilities were put to the test. Despite the fact that his team gave up three goals, he made some important stops and collections during the game. Could have done better regarding the goals he conceded.
Aleksandar Jovanovic – 7
Jovanovic performed admirably in the backline and had a respectable game. A solid defensive performance from the reliable centre-back throughout but left to stop the Punjab FC fowards from scoring.
Shankar Sampingiraj – 6.5
Throughout the night, he endured constant pressure from Punjab FC attackers, exhibiting defensive flaws. He struggled at times, displaying breakdowns in defensive coordination. Taken off in the interval.
Robin Yadav – 6.5
During build-ups, Robin executed short passes with good composure and performed admirably. Maintained good shape throughout and made some important interceptions while defending.
Naorem Roshan Singh – 6.5
Roshan did a good job of carrying out his tasks and was engaged throughout the game. He made efforts to provide his teammates with opportunities.
Harsh Patre – 7
Scored his team’s first equalizer. Tried to be compelling during build-ups and got along well with Curtis Main and Sunil Chhetri.
Keziah Veendorp – 7
Veendorp performed his defensive duties well, outdueling the Punjab FC attackers on several occasions. He even created a few opportunities and tried to work well with his teammates.
Javi Hernandez – 8
Javi was the most significant threat to Punjab’s defence since he broke free and kept their defenders at bay on numerous occasions. Scored the most important equalizer tonight and continously went ahead in search of goals.
Halicharan Narzary – 6
He kept the left channel open, but was not much effective when it came to delivering crosses into the box. Taken off at half time.
Curtis Main – 7.5
Curits performed effectively and scored Bengaluru FC’s second goal right before half time. He put in a lot of precise crosses and did his best to create scoring opportunities.
Sunil Chhetri – 7.5
Sunil assisted Harsh Patre to get his name on the scoresheet for the Blues’ first goal. Although Chhetri’s attempts towards the goal were consistently foiled, he aided Javi in getting their much-needed equalizer.
Substitutes
Slavko Damjanovic – 7
Slavko added more stability in the backline and brought in more defensive composure and prowess.
Sivasakthi Narayanan – 7
Sivasakthi had a positive impact on the match. Came close to scoring on several occasions but left to convert. Paired well with captain Chhetri and other attackers in the final third.
Suresh Singh – 6.5
Suresh had to keep himself busy in performing defensive duties. Won a number of ground duels, made some important blocks in front of goal and outdueled Juan Mera on multiple occasions.

A solid start but two mistakes in either halves aided Bengaluru crawl back into the match.
Khaiminthang Lhungdim – 6
Won four out of his five duels and put up a decent shift on a night of regular mistakes.
Suresh Meitei – 6
Could have done better but everyone around him had a tough night so he could not be blamed for the scoreline.
Dimitris Chatziisaias – 7
Brilliantly took his goal in the first half. Struggled along with his defensive partners to stop the opposition from scoring.
Nitesh Darjee – 5
Kept going throughout the match on a tough night.
Ashis Pradhan – 5
Could have helped his side better defensively.
Nikhil Prabhu – 8
Helped Punjab FC get off to a much-needed positive start with a brilliantly timed run exploiting Bengaluru’s weakness in defending crosses into the box. An impressive outing for the youngster.
Prasanth K – 5
Only managed twelve touches and got hooked off at half time. A night to forget for Prasanth.
Madih Talal – 7
Talal assisted Punjab FC’s first goal. But the team demands more from him for sure!
Juan Mera – 7
Assisted the third goal and created havoc throughout the game. Was heavily involved with 52 touches.
Luka Majcen – 8
Scored with a brilliantly taken long-range effort. Dropped in between the lines to dictate play.
Substitutes
Krishnananda Singh – 7
Replaced Prasanth in the second half. Provided Punjab FC with a good option on the right.

Came on and provided fresh legs in the second half.
