🦁 THE SHERS STUN THE BLUES!

Fortress breached! 🏟️ Effiong Nsungusi Jr scores a powerful first-half brace as Punjab FC blank Bengaluru FC 2-0 at the Kanteerava! Watch the highlights! 📺⚽

A massive shock under the Friday night floodlights! Watch the full highlights as Punjab FC produced a clinical away performance to hand Bengaluru FC their first defeat of the ISL 2025-26 season, securing a commanding 2-0 victory at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

Panagiotis Dilmperis's men came out firing, completely disrupting the Blues' defensive rhythm. The star of the night was Nigerian powerhouse Effiong Nsungusi Jr [20'], who opened the scoring by rising above his marker to power a bullet header past Gurpreet Singh Sandhu off a pinpoint cross from Manglenthang Kipgen.

Just minutes later, a midfield lapse from the home side proved costly. Dani Ramirez slipped a precise pass to Effiong [32'], who unleashed a thunderous left-footed strike from the edge of the box to double the visitors' advantage before the break.

Bengaluru FC head coach Gerard Zaragoza threw everything forward in the second half, introducing Sunil Chhetri, Sirojiddin, and Haobam Meetei to salvage the game. However, it wasn't the Blues' night. Despite dominating possession, they failed to break down a resolute Punjab defense, with Chhetri missing a golden opportunity in the 59th minute.

⛏️ BACK-TO-BACK WINS FOR JFC!

The Furnace delivers again! 🔥 Vincy Barretto pounces on a late error to seal a gritty 1-0 win for Jamshedpur FC against Punjab FC! Watch the highlights! 📺⚽

Jamshedpur FC have made it two wins out of two to start their ISL 2025-26 campaign! Watch the full highlights as Owen Coyle's Red Miners ground out a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Punjab FC in a very cagey affair at the JRD Tata Sports Complex (The Furnace).

In what was Punjab FC's first match of the season, head coach Panagiotis Dilmperis set his team up to be difficult to break down. The first half offered very little in terms of clear-cut chances. Punjab's Bikash Singh had a goal ruled out for offside in the 18th minute, while Jamshedpur’s Nikola Stojanović and Pratik Chaudhari threatened briefly for the hosts but failed to test the keeper.

The second half continued in a similarly scrappy fashion, with both defenses holding firm and the midfield battle dominating the pitch. Jamshedpur goalkeeper Albino Gomes was called into action and made crucial saves to deny Muhammad Suhail and Khaiminthang Lhungdim, earning his second consecutive clean sheet.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 78th minute thanks to a moment of fortune for the hosts. Mohammed Sanan delivered a teasing low cross from the left flank. Punjab FC goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh attempted to palm the ball away but only succeeded in pushing it directly into the path of Vincy Barretto [78']. The forward reacted instantly to tap the rebound into the empty net, sealing all three points for Jamshedpur FC.
