The decisions in that last third cost us the game: Jamshedpur FC boss Scott Cooper

Cooper praised FC Goa’s Noah Sadaoui.
FC Goa maintained their fine form against Jamshedpur FC and are back at the top of the table with a 1-0 win on Monday. It was an intense game, but with just one goal which came from Victor Rodriguez late in the game.
An 82nd minute strike by the Spaniard sealed the deal for the Gaurs and handed Jamshedpur their third defeat on the trot. After the game, Jamshedpur FC’s head coach Scott Cooper addressed the media.
Thoughts on the game
Scott Cooper began by sharing his thoughts on the game. He said that his side had more possession and passes, but that is not enough to win games.
“We had more possession and passes, but that doesn’t win you games. Congratulations to FC Goa, they were the better team. I expected them to play from the back but it was a bit more direct. We have to look at our chances and it’s not good enough.”
He also added that his side’s quality in the final third did was just not good enough.
“Our quality in the last third did not help us. We woke up a little bit after Goa scored. If we had the energy which we had in the last few minutes all throughout the game, we could have won the game,” he stated.
Thoughts on his team
Sharing his thoughts on his team, the English manager said that his team likes to keep the ball more, but if they don’t improve their decision making it will be very tough for them going forward.
“We are a team that likes to keep the ball. We advanced the ball and got into the defensive third of FC Goa. When we got there, the decision-making was poor. The decisions in that last third cost us the game. Unless we improve in the last third, it is going to be a tough season,” he asserted.
Thoughts on FC Goa’s performance
Scott Cooper also shared his views on FC Goa and said that they are a very good team with good solidity and structure.
“I think they were a very good team. The two centre-backs were strong, they won many second balls. There was solidity and good structure. They have quality and Noah (Sadaoui) is a very good player,” he concluded.
