Odisha FC are now ranked fourth in the points table

Odisha FC secured their second consecutive victory at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Following their triumphant encounter against Bengaluru FC, they demonstrated their prowess once again by outperforming the higher-ranked team on points table, NorthEast United FC, with a remarkable 1-0 score. This impressive triumph marks their third win in the ongoing ISL 2023-24 season

Diego Mauricio secured the only goal of the game in the 37th minute of play by capitalizing on a moment when Mirshad displayed some carelessness while passing the ball within the penalty area.

Here are the player ratings:

Odisha FC

Amrinder Singh – 7.5

Amrinder was right on the money, making some brilliant saves in the second half of play.

Carlos Delgado – 7.5

Delgado looked quite sharp while defending and man marking. 

Narender Gahlot – 6

Gahlot didn’t play to his standard today. Not just lost possession but was also too poor with his tackles. 

Jerry Lalrinzuala – 6.5

Jerry looked good in the mid-field region but received a yellow for an unnecessary fight where he was not involved. 

Amey Ranawade – 6.5

Ranawade had a good day on the field but couldn’t maintain the same performance he had in the last game. 

Cy Goddard – 6.5

Goddard also looked quite lost on the field. He was also replaced by Roy in the second half of play.

Puitea – 6.5

Puitea had a better performance in the second half of play than the first half. 

Ahmed Jahouh – 7.5

Jahouh received a yellow card in the game but that didn’t keep the man silent. Not just in the midfield, he was exceptional at the back during the last moments of play. 

Diego Mauricio – 7

Diego scored the first goal for OFC in the match and gave them an important lead in the 37th minute of play.

Isak Vanlalruatfela – 6.5

Isak created a few chances in the middle in the first half but couldn’t keep up his game in the second half. 

Jerry Mawihmingthanga – 7

Jerry ran in hard and was always upfront to take charge and capitalize on minute chances that were created. 

Substitutes 

Roy Krishna – 6.5

Roy Krishna replaced Goddard in the 56th minute of play. He had a good chance of scoring a goal in 80+ minutes but missed out on having the last touch. 

Pranjal Bhumji – 6

Pranjal replaced Jerry Mawihmingthanga in Mawihmingthanthe 67th minute. The midfielder missed three chances of putting the right cross.  

Lenny Rodrigues – 5.5

Lenny replaced Mauricio. He was good at his game but couldn’t match the momentum that Mauricio had. 

Aphaoba Singh – 6

Aphaoba had a beautiful chance to put a cross towards the box in the 88th minute but couldn;t control the ball and lost possession

Princeton Rebello – N/A

Rebello came on the field in the 82nd minute of play. He had too little time to prove his mettle in the middle.

NorthEast United FC

Mirshad Michu – 5.5

Although Michu made few saves, his sloppy pass helped Mauricio to take advantage and score a goal for his side.

Michel Zabaco – 6.5

Zabaco failed to control the defense line quite a few times in the first half of play. In the second half there were rarely any threats as OFC kept defending more than attacking. 

Asheer Akhtar – 6

Asheer also had rarely anything to do in the second half. But could have been more valiant in his moves in the first half.

Tondonba Singh – 7

Tondonba made a brilliant tackle to keep Roy Krishna finding the net.

Soraisham Dinesh Singh – 6.5

Dinesh could have put a better fight in the middle while moving through the midfield, lost most of his possession there.  

Konsam Phalguni Singh – 6

Phalguni completely looked out of touch and was also replaced from the start of the second half. 

Mohammed Ali Bemammer – 7

Ali kept on running for the whole time to create few chances for his team, did it also but unfortunately not a single one was converted. 

Ibson Melo – 6

Melo never looked threatening for the OFC defenders in the first half, was too weak at finding gaps between the defenders and was replaced from the start of the second half. 

Parthib Gogoi – 7

Parthib took a shot at goal in the second half of play but was brilliantly saved by Amrinder. 

Jithin Ms – 7.5

Jithin was the best player for NEUFC in the forward line. He was brilliant with his crosses and creating chances for his team. 

Substitute 

Pragyan Gogoi – 6

Pragyan was right at the attacking stance since his entry to the field. 

Romain Philippoteaux – 6.5

Philip replaced Melo at the beginning of the second half. Showed great composure while taking shots at target, but was repetitively blocked by OFC’s defenders. 

Redeem Tlang – 6

Tlang replaced Jithin, who controlled the left flank till he was replaced. But Tlang couldn’t match the game of Jithin.
