Mason Greenwood is currently playing for Getafe on loan

Mason Greenwood is a free agent at Manchester United who Real Madrid and Barcelona hope to capture permanently in January.

Mason Greenwood and Jude Bellingham are potential teammates for Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. Having made a great beginning for his tenure at the Madrid club after his drawn-out departure from Old Trafford, Greenwood is reportedly open to securing a full-time contract there.

In February, the 22-year-old's accusations of attempted rape, controlling and abusive behaviour, and assault resulting in actual bodily harm were dismissed. After it was determined he would depart Manchester United following a protracted internal investigation, he went on loan to join Getafe on transfer deadline day in August.

According to reports, the striker is content with his life in Spain and is willing to make a longer-term commitment to Getafe. In the team's most recent 2-2 tie with Celta Vigo, he scored his first goal for the team.

The Mirror claims that his present club could not be his only pursuers. Sevilla and many other unidentified La Liga teams are rumoured to be keen on buying him from United, where he is bound until 2025.

Despite being stranded in the bottom half of the Spanish top division, the Europa League winners are participating in the Champions League once more this season.

When charges against Greenwood surfaced online in January 2022, United suspended him. When all charges were dismissed in February 2023, the club had thought about reintroducing him into the team.

But after criticism from supporters, employees, and lawmakers, they reversed course and declared he could not finish his career at United.
