A list of players ready to make their Der Klassiker debut in 2023-24

The first Der Klassiker of the season is upon us, and it promises to be a thrilling encounter between two of the biggest and most successful clubs in Germany, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Both teams are unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season, and they are separated by just two points.

Borussia Dortmund will host Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga clash at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday, November 4, in a highly anticipated matchup between two of Germany's powerhouse clubs.

With new signings joining both German giants in the summer, here's a look at five players ready to get the taste of this rivalry:

5. Mathys Tel - Bayern Munich

Despite his young age, Tel has already proven to be an asset to Thomas Tuchel's squad. Although he has primarily been used as a substitute, the youngster has stepped up to the occasion when called upon, scoring 12 goals in 42 appearances for the club since joining from Stade Rennais FC. The new signing is scoring every 67 minutes for the Bavarians, he has three goals and one assist to his name already this season in the Bundesliga.

4. Felix Nmecha - Borussia Dortmund

The 23-year-old, a product of Manchester City's junior system, has some big shoes to fill this season as he was brought in as a replacement for the leaving Jude Bellingham. Nmecha has already contributed two assists in the Bundesliga and scored a winning goal in the UEFA Champions League. He missed Dortmund's last fixture against Frankfurt due to an injury but an on-time recovery will make his debut in his first derby match.

3. Kim Min-jae - Bayern Munich

Widely regarded as one of the world's top defenders, he is renowned for his strength, aggressive style of play, and uncanny ability to read the game. He was on the radar of many clubs during this summer transfer window, majorly linked with Manchester United but Bayern made a move to sign the former Napoli star. The South Korean international played a key role in helping the Italian side concede just 28 goals in the league, he now brings that winning experience to Germany.

2. Niclas Fullkrug - Borussia Dortmund

Niclas Fullkrug was the leading goalscorer with his former team Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga last season with 16 goals, he proved he could be a threat in front of goal when he scored 19 goals in the 2021-22 campaign for Werder Bremen before Dortmund came calling for the German. At 30 years old, Fullkrug isn’t the biggest star on the list but his resilience is what separates him from some of the players in the league this season.

1. Harry Kane - Bayern Munich

Harry Kane is no stranger to major games featuring rivals, having featured in the London derby while a member of Tottenham Hotspur. There was a void in the attack when Lewandowski left the club but Harry Kane has filled that void so far this season and is ready for his first derby match. He is the only player after Guirassy to score 12 goals in the first 9 matches, the Englishman has hit the ground running at his new club. He even scored a hat trick in the last match against Darmstadt.
