Manchester United identify Jean-Clair Todibo as Raphael Varane's replacement
The French centre-half has impressed for Nice
There are rumours that Manchester United are eager to sign Jean-Clair Todibo.
The 23-year-old may fetch a price tag of approximately £44 million. The British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expected to buy 25% of Manchester United from the Glazers, and he may play a significant role in Todibo's transfer.
This is because Ratcliffe owns Nice, where the centre-back plays. In four Ligue 1 seasons, Todibo has shown promise, and he has one senior cap for the French national team.
During his adolescent years, he was signed by Barcelona, although he only made five appearances for the team before being loaned to Schalke, Benfica, and Nice before the latter's deal became permanent.
Erik ten Hag has been keeping an eye on Todibo for a while; in the summer, he was rumoured to be heading to Old Trafford.
Furthermore, CaughtOffside asserts that he might immediately address United's defensive issues during the January transfer window.
This season, United has given up three goals or more six times.
According to rumours, the club is reportedly open to hearing bids for Raphael Varane. Clubs in Saudi Arabia are reportedly interested in him, and he is purportedly open to taking on new challenges.
Harry Maguire would keep his spot in the starting squad as a result of Varane's potential departure. Saudi Arabia is still showing interest in Varane.
During the summer, clubs from the Saudi Pro League embarked on a big spending binge and had their eyes set on the 30-year-old. But a relocation never really happened since Ten Hag still thought highly of him.
