Mourtada Fall returned to Odisha FC’s starting XI and delivered in style.
Odisha FC steamrolled 10-man Basundhara Kings to book their place into the AFC Cup Inter-zone playoff semi-finals for the very first time. The Juggernauts had a pretty comfortable game with Gafurov handed a controversial red card at the halfway mark.
Mourtada Fall rose up to the occasion to send Basundhara Kings out of the competition and send his team through to the next stage of the competition. Sergio Lobera will be pleased by the performance put on by his team if not for the thin scoreline.
Here are the player ratings from the game.
Odisha FC (by Rutvij Joshi)
Amrinder Singh – 7
Amrinder did not have much to do as the Juggernauts controlled the proceedings in most part of the game.
Amey Ranawade – 7
Amey was tactically positioned higher up the pitch as a wide target man. He did a decent job but wasn’t successful as most of his crosses were deflected for corners.
Mourtada Fall – 8.5
The Golden man delivered the goal for his side after eight corner attempts. He stood resilient to make sure the team gets the deserved clean-sheet and all three points.
Carlos Delgado – 7.5
Carlos stood tall and made sure Basundhara had no sniff on the goal. He wasn’t pressurized much and it was a comfortable outing for the Spaniard.
Jerry Lalrinzuala – 8
Jerry was brilliant in the defensive as well as offensive department. Made some good blind runs down the left and combined well occasionally.
Ahmed Jahouh – 9
Rolls Royce. The Magician. The Main Man. Odisha were ever-confident whenever he had the ball at his feet. He created more than half a dozen chances for Odisha FC and also gave an all important assist.
Cy Goddard – 7
Cy found pockets of spaces in the attack and tried to create space for the forwards. Wss playing through the injury and was substituted after the goal.
Puitea – 7.5
Puitea managed the traffic by his distribution, making sure that the Juggernauts controlled the game.
Jerry Mawmingthanga – 6.5
Jerry was good in parts for his team but his inexperience got the better of him. He had multiple opportunities to play it safe but his going for glory could have hurt the team. Lobera quickly noticed and replaced him after the 1-0 lead.
Diego Mauricio – 7
Diego Mauricio had quite a few chances but failed to convert them and put the game to bed.
Roy Krishna – 7.5
Roy, like his strike partner, was wasteful of his chances. However, some of his runs earned corners for his side.
Substitutes
Aniket Jadhav – 6.5
Aniket Jadhav didn’t have much to do. But he held the opposite left-back and didn’t allow the opposition to overload that side of the pitch.
Lenny Rodrigues – 6.5
Lenny Rodrigues illustrated his physical presence in the midfield, making sure Lobera’s men weren’t outnumbered.
Princeton Rebello – N/A
Bashundhara Kings (By Gourav Samal)

Bishwanath Ghosh – 6.5
Ghosh was quite furious in the first half but gave away some easy free-kicks with his clinical tackles.
Tariq Raihan Kazi – 6
Kazi made some brilliant clearances in the first half but couldn’t keep up the game in the second.
Boburbek Yuldashov – 7

Md Saad Uddin – 6.5
Saad kept on running throughout the match and put on some remarkable tackles, mostly in the second half.

The captain received a yellow card in the first half but kept on motivating his team throughout the match. This was evident in their game as they fought with 10 players on the pitch.
Asror Gafurov – 6
Gafurov was shown a red card in the 45+2nd minute of play. This caused the damage as Bashundhara Kings were reduced to 10 men.
Miguel Ferreira – 6
Miguel rarely had any presence with the ball and failed to provide any tactical assistance to the side.
Kpehi Jean-Charles – 6.5
Kpehi got too little chance to find any momentum up front as Odisha FC kept on attacking throughout the game.
Robson da Silva – 6.5
Minimal assistance in the midfield could have helped Robson keep up his game, but the Kings were down with a red card which restricted their game.
Dorielton – 7
Dorielton had a golden scoring chance in the first half but blasted the ball away.
