Ratings: Javi Hernandez brings Bengaluru FC's misery to an end

Bengaluru FC won an ISL game after October 4.
Bengaluru FC defeated Jamshedpur FC in the thrilling ISL 2023-24 encounter at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru and ended their seven-match winless streak following the arrival of the their new coach, Gerard Zaragoza. The Blues who were struggling to get three points in the last few matches emerged victorious after returing to their fortress.
Javi Hernandez scored the only goal for Bengaluru FC from the penalty spot, assisting Zaragoza’s newly implemented tactics. Jamshedpur FC, on the other hand, suffered their sixth defeat of the season and now sit 10th on the points table.

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu – 7.0
Did not had much to do in the first half, regulated few needed collections and helped his team build from the back. In the s econdhalf, he made some excellent saves and was succesful in adding another clean-sheet to his name.
Aleksandar Jovanovic – 7.0
Maintained a strong physical presence in the back. Exhibited strong defensive leadership and worked in tandem with Veendorp to keep the ball out of the net.
Slavko Damjanovic – 7.0
Damjanovic made a strong start to the game and provided a solid effort alongside Jovanovic. Won a handful of tackles against the JFC forwards and didn’t give them much room in the box.
Jessel Carneiro – 6.5
Decent night for the left-back in the backline. Denied from creating anything big but was successful in maintaining good defensive shape throughout.
Naorem Roshan Singh – 7.5
Made several outstanding runs by himself as he worked well at both ends of the pitch.
Suresh Singh – 7.0
Suresh started off a little sloppy, but he got better as the game went on. He misplaced a few passes, but managed to recover possession in the middle. Won a couple of ground duels against Laldinpuia and other JFC players.
Javi Hernandez – 8.0
Played the perfect role of the No.10 during his stay. Moved the ball recklessly, got the ball into areas that were promising, and scored the only goal for Bengaluru FC from the penalty spot.
Sivasakthi Narayanan – 7.0
Siva appeared promising right away. Whenever he got the ball, he was left with opportunities to score but fell short. Worked tirelessly to get his channel operating and gave support to Chhetri up front.
Halicharan Narzary – 6.5
In the first half, he was alert against JFC attackers, denying them much space on the left channel. He even created a few opportunities near the halfway point and tried to get along with his colleagues.
Keziah Veendorp – 7.0
After making an impressive return to the starting lineup, Veendorp made contributions on both the offensive and defensive ends, supplying passes to the midfield, demonstrating overlapping abilities, and delivering good command in the middle of the park.
Sunil Chhetri – 7.0
Put out a strong all-around striker’s effort throughout. Captivated every ball and got very close to scoring but left to add his name on the scoresheet. Taken off at few minutes before the final quarter.
Substitutes
Rohit Danu – 6.0
Rohit Danu extended Bengaluru FC’s midfield line by adding pace. However, it produced no outcomes for his side.
Harsh Patre – 6.0
Harsh brought more defensive solidity in the middle of the park and kept the ball away from JFC attackers in the midfield.

Rehenesh TP – 7.0
The Custodian made one save and two successful punches. He had to make two run outs as well to cover for the high backline.
Laldinpuia – 6.5
The youngster continued to impress with his defensive solidity. Dinpuia made two clearances on the night.
Pratik Chaudhari – 6.5
Pratik was involved in six duels out of which he won two. He also registered a tackle and a clearance to his name.
Elsinho – 6.5
The defensive leader showed character after conceding the penalty and kept things tight at the back. Elsinho made four clearances and two successful tackles in the match.
Muhammed Uvais – 6.0
Uvais had a mixed outing at the Kanteerva and was subbed off at the break. The left-back registered two tackles in the game.
Len Doungel – 5.5
Len Doungel was missing before being replaced by Sanan. With mere nine touches and no noticeable action in the game, he was taken off at half time.
Jitendra Singh – 6.5
Jitu was spot on with his passing and positioning. With 83% accuracy, he completed 29 passes and created one chance.
Jeremy Manzorro – 8.0
The Frenchman was denied a late equaliser by the crossbar which could have been a screamer. He created two goal-scoring chances as well and attempted three shots.
Komal Thatal – 6.5
Komal got to play after ages. With two shots to test the keeper, he must have impressed Scott Cooper in an underperforming lineup.
Alen Stevanovic – 5.0
Alen is backed by the coach for his pressing but he did not try anything else in the game. The skipper had seven touches and registered a tackle.
Daniel Chima Chukwu – 6.5
The Nigerian created two chances and had a shot on target, but missed a few half chances as well.
Substitutes
Imran Khan – 6.0
Imran came in at half time and created one scoring chance. He was also impressive defensively.
Rei Tachikawa – 6.5
The Japanese trickster could have scored on the night. Rei won two fouls and covered ground in the second half.
Mohammed Sanan – 6.0
Sanan was a livewire in the attack. He attempted four crosses but lacked vision to pick out better options.
Emil Benny – 5.5
Emil came in as a substitute and was later substituted for Nongdamba Naorem for his ineffectiveness on the right flank.
Nongdamba Naorem – 6.5
Naorem created one chance in the 15 minutes he got to play.
