Former West Ham, Manchester City star Trevor Sinclair joins India's coaching staff for AFC Asian Cup

In a significant and noteworthy development for Indian football, former English player Trevor Sinclair has been enlisted to assist Igor Stimac in the upcoming AFC Asian Cup, scheduled to take place in January next year.

According to Revsportz, the former Manchester City and West Ham United winger, who also spent two seasons with Igor Stimac at West Ham, is set to join the Indian coaching staff on 29 December. This team is scheduled to travel to Doha for the AFC Asian Cup on 30 December.

Who is Trevor Sinclair?

Trevor Sinclair, a former English footballer, established himself as a prominent midfielder throughout his extensive professional football career. Born in England on March 2, 1973, Trevor played for several notable clubs in his career such as Blackpool, Queens Park Rangers (QPR), West Ham United, Manchester City and Cardiff City.

He also accumulated 12 caps while representing the English national team and was also a part of their 2002 FIFA World Cup squad. He is particularly renowned for his tenure at West Ham United, where he was an active player from 1998 to 2003, participating in 177 matches and scoring 37 goals. Subsequently, he had a brief spell at Manchester City, during which he registered five goals in 82 appearances.

Managerial Experience

During the 2014-2015 season, Trevor fulfilled the dual responsibilities of player and assistant manager at Lancaster City. According to the most recent report, he was overseeing the football operations alongside manager Jamie Milligan at Bamber Bridge.
