RB Leipzig looking to land Jadon Sancho on loan in January
Jadon Sancho is likely to be sold in January by Manchester United
The news that RB Leipzig are interested in the England winger has increased Jadon Sancho’s chances of leaving Manchester United during the January transfer window.
After a public breaking down with the boss, Erik ten Hag banished Sancho from the Man Utd squad in August.
The player has been adamantly opposed to Ten Hag’s demands that the 23-year-old apologise for his actions, suggesting that their relationship has reached a deadlock.
All sides are therefore seeking a way out of the predicament, and the most likely one is for Sancho to leave on a loan basis in January.
The player’s expensive salary appears to have eliminated Borussia Dortmund and Juventus from the running, while the Saudi Pro League has shown little interest in signing him thus far.

RB Leipzig are currently investigating the potential of bringing Sancho back to the Bundesliga following his 38 goals and 51 assists for BVB during the campaign.
According to SportBild, Sancho’s annual wage, which is rumoured to be around €20 million, is a deal-breaker in any transaction. It’s unknown if RB Leipzig wants to sign a long-term contract or just take one out on loan.
Leipzig should be able to afford Sancho’s transfer price considering that his estimated transfer value has dropped from €109 million to €33 million.
In the summer, the Bundesliga team paid more to sign Lens’s Lois Openda. The Manchester United winger’s pay, however, is significantly higher than anything Leipzig has ever paid.
So, in order to broker a long-term agreement, both sides will need to make some compromises. Sancho will probably have to take a pay reduction, Manchester United would have to pay a portion of his income, and Leipzig might have to change their compensation structure.
