Real Madrid are arguably the biggest club in the history of football. They are also the king’s of the UEFA Champions League winning it most times (14) in the history of the competition. Under Zinedine Zidane, they completed the iconic three-peat from 2016-2018. In a very competitive era of European football, Real Madrid have dominated the majority of the UEFA Champions League.

10. Guti Hernandez – 16 goals
One of the few underrated players in Real Madrid’s history. Guti Hernandez is a Real Madrid player since childhood. He joined Real Madrid’s academy since he was 9 year’s old and worked his way through the ranks. Guti is arguably a club legend making 542 appearances across all competitions.
Guti Hernandez has won three UCL titles with Real Madrid however he has not featured in any of these finals.
9. Roberto Carlos – 16 goals
Arguably the greatest left-back in the history of football. Roberto Carlos had it all, he was the perfect defender with good offensive abilities as well. The Brazilian helped Real Madrid in scoring goals and was a crucial defender as well. Roberto Carlos was a great set-piece taker as well scoring free-kicks for Real Madrid.
Roberto Carlos revolutionized the left-back role essentially making it his own. His prime years at Real Madrid and performances in the UCL against some of the best teams in Europe was consistent.
8. Luis Figo – 16 goals
Only a few can have the courage to make this difficult decision. The difficult decision being having the courage to join Real Madrid after playing for FC Barcelona. FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are rivals and their fierce rivalry is one of the oldest ones in football.
Luis Figo only won the UEFA Champions League title once in his career and that too with Real Madrid. He won the UCL title with Real Madrid in 2000 alongside winning the Ballon d’or which marked an incredible year for him.
7. Gareth Bale – 16 goals
Bale is arguably one of the best players of our generation and also one of the most underrated players as well. Gareth Bale’s last years at Real Madrid were scrutinized by many but nothing can take away his achievements.
Despite his great goalscoring records, Gareth Bale has only managed to score 16 goals in the UEFA Champions League for Real Madrid. He has managed to win 4 UCL titles with Real Madrid. This includes scoring a late header in the 2014 final and a worldly overhead kick against Liverpool in the 2018 final.

6. Vinicius Jr – 17 goals
The Brazilian took quite some time to perform consistently for Real Madrid especially in the UEFA Champions League. Over the past two seasons, Vinicius has managed to garner 11 goals.
Vinicius Jr scored 4 goals in the 2021-22 season which includes a crucial goal in the final. Vini managed to score 7 goals in the 2022-23 season where Real Madrid eventually lost in the semi-finals against Manchester City. Considering his age and form since the last few seasons, Vinicius Jr and Rodrigo can definitely manage to make it to the top end of the list.
5. Fernando Morientes – 17 goals
Morientes’s most iconic moment of his career was scoring a goal in both legs against his parent club Real Madrid whilst on loan at Monaco. He did this to knock out Madrid out of the UCL.
Despite this contribution against Real Madrid, he has helped Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Morientes has won three UCL titles with Real Madrid scoring 17 goals in 58 appearances.
4. Rodrygo – 18 goals
Just like Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo has also performed consistently in the past few seasons. Over the last two seasons, Rodrygo has amassed 11 goals. Rodrygo announced himself to world football scoring a hat-trick on his UCL debut against Galatasaray in the 2018-19.
This includes Real Madrid’s UCL (2021-22) winning season where Rodrygo scored 5 goals. Rodrygo scored 2 late goals against Manchester City as Real Madrid made an inspiring comeback to make it to the finals.
3. Raul Gonzalez – 66 goals
Real Madrid’s all-time leader in appearances and the club’s third goalscorers as well. Raul was the first player to score 50 goals in the UEFA Champions League. He was also the youngest player at his time to play for Real Madrid’s main team.
Raul Gonzalez won three UCL titles with Real Madrid. He was also the first player to score in two UCL finals, one in the 2000 final and 2002 final as well.
2. Karim Benzema – 90 goals
The fourth highest goalscorer in the history of the tournament. The most underrated player in Real Madrid’s iconic trio of Bale – Benzema – Cristiano. Karim has scored in every edition of the UEFA Champions League since the 2012-13 season till the 2022-23 season, before his move to Al Ittihad.
Karim Benzema scored 15 goals in the 2021-22 season of the UCL. His performance was extremely crucial that season as he scored back-to-back hat-tricks against PSG and Chelsea. He even scored 3 goals against Manchester City over two legs to knock them out of the semi-finals. His performance in the UEFA Champions League was key to Real Madrid winning the title and him securing the Ballon d’Or as well.
1. Cristiano Ronaldo – 105 goals
The greatest player to play in the UEFA Champions League. Ronaldo has made the most appearances for Real Madrid in the UCL (101), which is way more than he did for Manchester United and Juventus.
Cristiano Ronaldo has made many comebacks in the UCL for Real Madrid. Ronaldo is also the top-scorer of the UEFA Champions League in the history of the competition. He has the record of most goals scored in a single season (17). Cristiano Ronaldo ended up being the top-scorer of the UCL for six seasons during his career at Real Madrid.
