The teams created chances but couldn’t convert them.
The 2023 AFC Asian Cup is about to enter its business end where each match will be a do-or-die game for all the teams. A few teams have already made it to knockouts while a few are still in contention for the RO16.
India’s Asian dream ended Tuesday night following their 1-0 defeat to Syria. It has been a memorable tournament so far. From Iraq pulling off an upset against title favourites Japan to Tajikistan making it to the knockouts in their very first attempt, the 2023 AFC Asian Cup has presented us with many unforgettable moments.
Almost all the teams have given joy to their fans and have found the back of the net except a few. On that note, let us take a look at the teams which have failed to score at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
India
The Blue Tigers have played all of their three group stage matches and failed to score a single goal. They lost their first game 2-0 against Australia before facing a 3-0 defeat to Uzbekistan and then Syria put the final nail in their coffin with a 1-0 defeat. It has been a tournament to forget for India and their fans because there aren’t any positives to takeaway.
Malaysia
Malaysia are the second team who have failed to score at the flagship tournament. The side has played just two games so far and has conceded five goals. They began their campaign with a 4-0 defeat to Jordan followed by a 1-0 defeat to Bahrain. Next up they will face South Korea.
Kyrgyz Republic
The White Falcons are also among the teams that have failed to find the back of the net at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. They have also played just two games and have conceded four goals. Kyrgyz Republic lost their first match 2-0 against Thailand before losing 2-0 to Saudi Arabia. They will face Oman in their final group stage match.
