Indian football calendar for 2024-25 season announced
The Indian football season is expected to start in July.
The Kalinga Super Cup is currently underway, and the second half of India’s top-tier league, the Indian Super League, will begin in February, marking the end of the 2023–24 Indian football season. After that, there will be a pause in the football action. The tentative schedule for Indian football’s 2024–25 season is already available, so the break won’t last long.
Durand Cup dates!
The Durand Cup will be the first competition of 2024–25 in July. This will be the 133rd edition of the oldest football tournament in India. 24 teams, including those from the Indian Super League, I-League and the armed forces, will compete in the tournament. From July 26, 2024, to August 31, 2024, more than a month will pass while the action is underway.
Super Cup, IWL, I-League
However, there won’t be any football action in September. The Federation Cup, which has been rebranded as the Super Cup, will commence on October 1 and run for six months, a model similar to the English FA Cup. The Indian Women’s League and the I-League, will both begin play on October 19 and run through April 30 of the following year.
Indian Super League
By the end of October, the stage will be prepared for the opening of the Indian top division. The Indian Super League will kick off its six-month format on October 25. It is anticipated that the competition will last until April 30 of the subsequent year. The Santosh Trophy final round will take place between December 1 and December 15 in the interim.
