Curtis Main managed just two goals in eight appearances for Bengaluru FC.

Bengaluru FC and English forward Curtis Main have mutually agreed to split ways following a lackluster performance during the on-going Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season. The decision comes as the club now focuses on finding a more impactful striker to bolster their attacking prowess. Despite the hype surrounding his arrival, Main only scored two goals, falling short of the club’s expectations for a player of his repute.

Main, who was signed with high expectations to perform the important role of an ideal No. 9, struggled to make an impression in the current ISL season for the Blues. The club confirmed the departure of their English forward earlier today on their social media handles, thanking him for his contributions and wishing him the best of luck for his future endeavours.

Curtis Main’s inability to form a prolific partnership with other Indian forwards contributed to the decision to part ways. Bengaluru FC had hoped for the English striker to bring his scoring prowess to the forefront, but his struggles on the pitch in terms of scoring prompted the club to make the tough decision.

What’s next for Bengaluru FC?

The departure of Curtis Main leaves Bengaluru FC in search of a striker who can fill the void and provide the much-needed firepower up front. During this transfer window, head coach Gerard Zaragoza and the management will be in active search for the Englishman’s successor in the hopes of reversing the season’s misfortunes.

The club’s supporters will be eagerly awaiting the news of potential signings and anticipating how the new additions will contribute to the team’s success as they look to reignite their season and make a strong push for the top-six position in the current 2023-24 ISL season.
