ISL 2023-24: Conor Nestor leaves Hyderabad FC

In a surprising turn of events, Hyderabad FC’s first-team coach Conor Nestor announced on Monday that he has officially terminated his contract with the club as of December 30, 2023. Nestor, alongside Thangboi Singto, had the challenging task of filling the shoes of Manolo Marquez, who departed for FC Goa.

Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Nestor expressed his gratitude, stating, “I would like to say thank you to the club’s supporters, who were extremely understanding during my time at the club, and to those players who always gave their best for the good of the group.”

Despite the initial optimism surrounding Nestor’s appointment, Hyderabad FC endured a disappointing first half of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season. The team failed to secure a single victory in 11 outings, managing only four draws and suffering seven losses.

The announcement comes as a significant development for Hyderabad FC, prompting speculation about the potential appointment of a new first-team coach to revitalise the team.
