Ratings: Maher, Siverio shine as East Bengal dance into Kalinga Super Cup final

East Bengal FC has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first team to advance to the final of the Kalinga Super Cup 2024. This success was attained after a 2-0 victory over Jamshedpur FC at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The opening goal was scored by Hijazi Maher in the 19th minute, followed by a second goal from Javier Siverio in the 47th minute, securing a noteworthy triumph for East Bengal FC in the tournament.

Gill demonstrated remarkable performance throughout the game and concluded the match with a clean sheet.

Rakip appeared more formidable in the first half of the match with his intermittent tackles.

Nandha consistently demonstrated composure in the forward position, effectively dictating the game through his adept delivery of crosses and duels.
Cleiton Silva – 6
Although Cleiton performed adequately in the match, he failed to convert a penalty in the 82nd minute.
Javier Siverio – 7
Javier netted the second goal of the game during the 47th minute and played a pivotal role in bolstering East Bengal’s advantage in the match.

Ajay Chhetri – 6.5
Ajay Chhetri was substituted for Vishnu in the 60th minute of the game. He performed well during his time on the pitch and faced increased challenges upon entering the defense line.
Mandar Rao Dessai – 6
Mandar was substituted for Nishu Kumar in the 60th minute of the match. He exhibited a slight lack of momentum during the game, which potentially affected his overall performance.
VP Suhair – 6
Suhair substituted Javier Siverio in the 70th minute of the match. However, he was unable to replicate the impact that Siverio had made during his time on the field.

Made some brilliant saves to keep East Bengal at bay, but poor defending from his team made Rehenesh look poor too.
Muhhamed Uvais – 5.5
Uvais excelled in defence, but conceded cheap goals. Especially during the second goal, he could have better protected Jamshedpur’s goal. He was substituted in the second half.
Pratik Chaudhari – 5
Pratik performed well in defence, but there was room for improvement in his overall game. He was beaten on the flank by East Bengal’s Sayan, resulting in a penalty that Cleiton Silva missed.
Provat Lakra – 7
He should have performed much better in the second goal, but his performance was commendable throughout the match. He pressed and was all over the field.
Elsinho – 6
Elsinho could have done better on the first East Bengal goal but performed admirably throughout the rest of the match. He was quite active in attack as well.
Germanpreet Singh – 6
Took some shots that were blocked and provided key passes to create chances for Jamshedpur, but it wasn’t sufficient to secure a victory for his team.
Rei Tachikawa – 6.5
Connected well with the attack, boasting several key passes. He also tracked back and contributed defensively to support his team.
Jeremy Manzorro – 7
One of Jamshedpur’s standout performers in the game, actively contributing to the attack. Maintained possession, delivered precise through balls, and made key passes.
Imran Khan – 5.5
Imran struggled to contribute in the attack for Jamshedpur, appearing ineffective in the final third. He was taken off in the second half.
Steve Ambri – 5
Couldn’t contribute much as he was substituted in the 30th minute, with Sanan taking his place.
Semboi Haokip – 6
Haokip had some decent chances to give his team the lead but couldn’t capitalise on them. He was substituted in the second half.

Gave the desired pace and width to Jamshedpur FC on the wings. He proved to be a suitable replacement for Ambri after coming in during the 31st minute.
Nongdamba Naorem – 6
Provided valuable pace to the Jamshedpur team, aiding them in the attack. Additionally, he delivered some effective passes into the box.
Nikhil Barla – 4
Failed to provide the team with the necessary pace and width, despite having some good moments. Unable to capitalise on opportunities.
