Can’t be more excited for what lies ahead, asserts motivated Igor Stimac

The Croatian enjoyed marvelous success with Indian Football Team in 2023.
On the occasion of the setting of a new year, Indian National Team Head Coach Igor Stimac took it to social media, to express his contempt with all that happened across the span of the past 365 days, and how he hopes that the oncoming year reaps more and more success for the national team.
“A year of success and massive learnings”, he stated in his Instagram post. “We’re grown leaps and bounds in 2023 and we can’t be more excited for what lies ahead.”
“Wishing everyone a very happy and successful new year.” he said.

A revolutionary year for Indian football
2023 has been nothing short of a miracle year for Indian football, because of the incredible heights that the national team climbed through its exceptional displays on the field.
Right from the start of the Tri Nation tournament in march, Igor’s men were showing very promising signs of improvement and the team was finally starting to take shape.
The national team then went onto one of their most successful international camp in the month of June – July, where across the span of three weeks, the national team won two trophies, defeating the likes of Lebanon and Kuwait, and gaining national plaudits and appreciation for the brilliant displays.
A nervy phase endowed in October, with upsetting results in the Asian games as well as the Kings Cup.
In November started the second round their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, where the Blues won one game, and lost the other to end their year.
What the future holds?
Igor’s men will now take on perhaps their biggest challenge in the recent past, when they face a formidable group in the AFC Asian Cup 2023, which contain three tough nations – Australia, Syria and Uzbekistan.
It will be pretty interesting to see how the Blue Tigers take on some of Asia’s elite footballing nations, and the competition will be a testament of the progress that the national team has made in the recent past.
