IFA, Goa Football Association join hands to advance Indian football

The two associations will work towards developing the sport in India.

The two perennial pillars of Indian football, Bengal and Goa Football Associations have joined forces in a collaborative effort aimed at advancing the sport of football in India.

Goa Football Association president Dr. Caitano Jose Fernandes, vice president Mr. Anthony Pango, and a member of the executive committee of the organization Mr. Kistodo Fernandes met with the top officials of IFA in a meeting at the IFA office on Monday.

In this meeting, the outline of how the two organizations can work together for the overall development of football. On behalf of IFA, IFA President Mr. Ajit Bandopadhyay, Hony.  Secretary Mr. Anirban Dutta, Hony. Treasurer Mr. Debashish Sarkar, Vice President Mr. Sourav Pal, Mr. Swarup Biswas, Assistant Secretaries Mr. Sufal Ranjan Giri, Mr. Subhashis Sarkar, Sk. Nazrul Islam were present at the meeting.

Earlier they were felicitated with mementos on behalf of IFA. Goa Football Association president Dr. Caitano Jose Fernandes, president of the Goa Football Association, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted the fruitful discussions that took place during the meeting. He believes that this collaboration between two prominent state football bodies will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Indian football.

The meeting outlined strategies for player exchanges across different age groups, enhancing refereeing standards, promoting coaches’ development, boosting women’s football, and strengthening grassroots initiatives. Both associations expressed enthusiasm about the potential of this partnership to usher in a new era of growth and progress for Indian football.

Overall, the collaboration between the Bengal and Goa Football Associations signifies a significant step forward in uniting regional football forces to collectively elevate the sport’s stature and impact in the country.
