Despite East Bengal undergoing several changes in the contingent, Hyderabad boss Thangboi Singto is aware of their threat.

In anticipation of tomorrow’s clash at the GMC Balayogi Stadium in Hyderabad, Hyderabad FC gear up to face East Bengal. The Nizams are yet to salvage a victory this season and most of their foreign players and key Indian players have left the sinking ship. When the young Nizams take the pitch tomorrow, it will be a battle between experience and youth.

Ahead of this crucial encounter, head coach Thangboi Singto and defender Sajad Parray addressed the media. Excerpts are below.

The fans’ support

Head coach Thangboi Singto expressed gratitude towards the fans for their unwavering support, despite the results not going in favour of Hyderabad FC. He said, “In the previous press conferences, we’ve forgotten to mention about the core people who are supporting us – our fans. There are a few fans who are always there for us, chanting their hearts out for the team and we appreciate that. We believe that they will continue to support us in the upcoming games.”

Preparations for this game

In addressing the team’s preparations, the mentor highlighted the dedication to hard work and emphasized instilling confidence in the younger players. He asserted, “We are trying our best. We are firstly trying to instill the belief in our young boys and they are giving their best. It’s tough playing against top teams like East Bengal. There might be change in foreigners or they may be facing suspensions but you cannot underestimate them. They are a difficult side to beat.”

Working on the areas of concern

Regarding the team’s areas of concern, the tactician highlighted comprehensive efforts to address various aspects. “We’ve conceded a lot of goals. The area where we have to work on is probably the combination of physicality and inexperience. We have created chances in the previous games but couldn’t convert them. These are our areas of concern and it’s difficult, but we have been working on them,” he mentioned.

Injury Updates

“Joao Victor couldn’t play the last match but has recovered from his injury and will be available for tomorrow’s game. Aaren D Silva has unfortunately suffered a knee injury and may not be available for a few games,” Thangboi Singto confirmed the return of skipper Joao Victor, who suffered a minor injury a few days back.

Sajad Parray’s comments

Sajad Parray, who has stepped into the right-back position recently, has emerged as a shining player for Hyderabad FC during what has proven to be a challenging season.

On facing East Bengal FC

The defender expressed his belief that facing East Bengal won’t be an easy task. He stated, “We’ve been training hard and will try to implement the same on field. East Bengal is a difficult team. But we have worked hard and are prepared to face them. We will give our best and are hopeful of a positive result.”

Coordination and support between team members

Parray spoke about the team bonding, emphasizing the support and encouragement from both coaches and senior players. “We have the coaches who are always supporting us. Senior players like Joao Victor, Laxmikant Kattimani and Alex Saji are also very supportive. Initially things were a little difficult, but now we understand each other and communicate well,” he said.
