Need to remain alert and adapt to their tactics, says Khalid Jamil ahead of clash ahead of Mohun Bagan
Jamil asserts that Mohun Bagan are one of the best sides in ISL 2023-24.
After a run of good performances and results coming their way, Jamshedpur FC have a huge test in form of Mohun Bagan Super Giant in their next away game. The Mariners have clicked well under Habas and are a contender for the ISL Shield.
Before the tough outing against the Green and Maroon, Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil addressed the media.
On tomorrow’s game
Khalid started his thoughts on tomorrow’s match, “Mohun Bagan is one of the best teams in ISL but our priority is to deliver a strong performance and fight for a positive outcome for our fans and make them proud.”
The coach talked about the plan and preparations for the game, “We don’t have a specific target player to focus on, so we need to remain alert and adapt to their tactics. Our initial priority is to deliver a strong performance. Subsequently, we must aim for positive outcomes based on the circumstances. This is crucial for our success.”
On the opponent
This game against high flying Mariners will be a tougher battle than what Khalid Jamil and team had faced after the resumption. The coach cited his thoughts on the opponents.
“Yes, speaking about them, they are a strong team, undoubtedly one of the best in the ISL. They have quality players, a mix of foreign and Indian players, all performing well. All of their players, including the Indian and senior players are performing well.”
He continued, “Their foreigners are also playing at a high level. Overall, they have a strong squad with quality players, even on the bench, making them one of the best teams.”
On team’s inspiring run
The form of Jamshedpur FC has not been sort of a magical spell under Khalid Jamil. The team is playing for the fans and the players are looking more motivated than before.
The manager revealed the secret behind it, “I simply motivate the players. They are performing well and putting in a lot of effort. I encourage them to play their natural game & they respond positively. We have good, hard working players, which is a positive aspect.”
