Bengaluru FC contributed to an already existing record in this ISL clash.

Bengaluru FC defeated Kerala Blasters in a high-voltage ISL 2023-24 clash on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

It was an equally poised start to the game for both sides at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. Danish Farooq made the first attempt of the game before Sunil Chhetri’s header went wide in the early stages.

Chhetri was put through on goal again before Karanjit Singh rushed towards the ball and made an important collection. The Blues executed a training ground set-piece routine just after the drinks break, but Chhetri failed to keep his attempt on target as another chance went begging.

Suresh Singh put in a delicious ball for Sunil Chhetri following an unsuccessful corner, but the skipper failed to keep it on target yet again. Dimitrios Diamantakos also made a late attempt in the first half but couldn’t get anything out of it.

Javi Hernandez’s shot from the edge of the area was blocked before Gurpreet SIngh Sandhu neutralized Mohammad Aimen’s chance with a crucial save. Aimen kept troubling the Blues’ backline, but Slavko Damjanovic and Aleksandar Jovanovic stood up to the task and pulled off crucial clearances and blocks.

Finally, in the 89th minute, Shivaldo Singh put in a low cross inside the box for Javi Hernandez who slotted it home and broke the deadlock with an eye-catching finish. It was enough to fetch the Blues yet another home-win and elevate them to the sixth spot on the ISL table.
