Chennaiyin FC earned a dramatic victory over Odisha FC in the ISL 2023-24 on March 3, Sunday.

Chennaiyin FC got off to the best possible start as Ankit Mukherjee opened the scoring for them. The defender executed Rafael Crivellaro’s corner to perfection and did not hesitate to head it past the keeper and give his side an early lead.

Mourtada Fall made a super run into Chennaiyin FC’s half and tried a long ranger but missed the target by a few inches. A few minutes later, Isak Ralte and Roy Krishna combined to create a positive chance for Odisha, but Debjit Majumder was up to the task before denying Roy Krishna earlier in the 24th minute.

Ankit tested Amrinder Singh once again after the drinks break with a shot, but this time the keeper had his goal covered. Odisha FC put on a lot of pressure on the home side, but just couldn’t find the back of the net as the referee blew the half-time whistle.

Both sides created a few and fair chances until Roy Krishna restored parity for his side with a header in the 78th minute and brought the game back on level terms.

Jordan Murray tested Amrinder just after the equalizer, but Amrinder neutralized the danger. A few minutes later, Rahim Ali almost scored the winner, but Amrinder denied the same with a crucial save.

Finally, Jordan Murray stepped up to score from a corner in the 94th minute to turn it around for his side. Chennaiyin FC emerged victorious and pulled off an upset to get all three points after an entertaining game of football.
