ISL: Gurmeet Singh signs long-term deal with NorthEast United

Gurmeet Singh actually made his professional debut at NorthEast United.
NorthEast United FC have announced the signing of Gurmeet Singh as a free agent. The promising young goalkeeper has inked a significant 4.5-year deal with the Highlanders. A young Gurmeet made his professional debut in the Indian Super League(ISL) with NorthEast United FC in 2019 and later went on to join Hyderabad FC in 2021. He also represented the Indian National team at the recently concluded Asian Games.
As he returns to the club, his growth and achievements in the interim promise an exciting chapter for both Gurmeet and NorthEast United FC. Head Coach, Juan Pedro Benali expressed his delight over the acquisition, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Gurmeet Singh to NorthEast United FC. His addition to the squad will undoubtedly add immense value to our squad.
“We are confident that his presence will help us better our performance on the field, and we look forward to achieving great success together.” Mandar Tamhane, the club’s CEO, emphasized the significance of the signing, stating, “Securing Gurmeet Singh for a 4.5-year deal is a massive statement to the future of NorthEast United FC.
