The Summer Transfer Window had some surprising acquisitions aND Khel Now looks at some transfers which fans may have missed out on...

The European summer transfer window turned out to be an extremely wild and entertaining one for fans this season because of how some incredible and almost unthinkable deals went through in the end.

Although Paris Saint-Germain were the talk of the town due to their heavy spending where they signed Brazilian star Neymar for a world-record fee., other European heavyweights like the Manchester clubs, Barcelona and AC Milan also made some big signings.

While many of the "big signings" have been noticed by fans all across the world, there has been some important transfer activity which not many fans have paid heed to. A few very talented players made shocking moves out of their clubs to other big clubs, but these transfer kind of got lost in the shuffle and many fans almost missed them altogether! So let us have a look at these 5 transfers you almost missed this summer.

5. Emre Mor (Dortmund-Celta Vigo)

Mor failed to hold down a starting place at Dortmund

Emre Mor was one of the most sought-after youngsters in Europe when he joined Borussia Dortmund last season and expectations rose when he impressed at the European Championships last year as well. But things didn't really go so well for "The Turkish Messi" at Dortmund, where he failed to find a place in the team and saw Christian Pulisic rise above him to a starting spot.

Mor only made 12 appearances and scored a single goal and was desperate for a move out in the summer. Many clubs, including Liverpool, were interested in the Turkish international, but Mor shocked many when he moved to Celta Vigo for a club record £12m. His move might not have been publicized much, but he can definitely make an impact in La Liga for his new club who rate him very highly.

4. Blaise Matuidi (PSG-Juventus)

Blaise Matuidi had a glittering career at Paris Saint-Germain and was pivotal to their rise in European football over the past few years. The midfield workhorse was the heart of PSG's team but his time had apparently come up this year as PSG were intent on selling him in the summer. There were rumors of him joining Manchester United, who opted to go for Nemanja Matic and Matuidi was stuck in limbo for sometime before Juventus came to the rescue.

The Bianconeri signed the experienced Frenchman for around €20m in a move which took many by surprise. Actually, not even many people found out about the news because of how quickly it transpired, but this was part of Juve's amazing business in the summer despite losing star defender Leonardo Bonucci.

3. Geoffrey Kondogbia (Inter Milan- Valencia)

Kondogbia has flattered to deceive

Geoffrey Kondogbia was hailed as one of the stars to look out for in the future when he excelled as part of Sevilla and later also doing very well at AS Monaco at a very young age. But ever since getting the high-profile move to Inter Milan, he couldn't handle the nerves and failed to impress in the Italian Serie A.

The midfielder was not able to keep his temper in check and failed to be the midfield general Inter needed, for which he was kept up for sale in the summer. He couldn't find many suitors before Valencia came calling, with the Frenchman moving on loan with an option to buy. Kondogbia is back in La Liga where he played his best football for Sevilla and will hope that he can rediscover his deadly form and take Valencia to new heights.

2. Keita Balde (Lazio-AS Monaco)

Keita Balde rose to new heights as part of Lazio last season, where he had a breakout season by scoring 16 goals in 31 appearances for the Italian club. Balde was eyed by many heavyweights due to his amazing form last season, with the likes of Juventus and AC Milan trying to snap him up. But out of the blue, Balde was announced to be signed by AS Monaco for an undisclosed fee. Not many fans even got to know about this transfer because of how suddenly it was announced, but Monaco have got themselves an absolute peach of a player who is capable of brilliant stuff on the wings and will add spark to their attack with his trickery and impeccable eye for goal.

1. Patrik Schick (Sampdoria-AS Roma)

Schick was a coup of sorts for Roma

Patrik Schick is a player who may not be known by many fans, but he proved his talent in the Italian Serie A last season when he excelled for Sampdoria. Schick scored 11 goals and assisted five for Sampdoria in what turned out to be a breakthrough season for him and he became a hot prospect among many Italian clubs.

It looked like he was headed to Juventus who almost signed him, but he allegedly failed his medical due to which the deal was off. Schick would go onto be roped in by AS Roma for a club record fee which can be worth €42m overall when all the installments are paid. Schick will only improve Roma's terrific attacking game-play this season and will definitely be recognized around the world if he manages to prosper at the highest level.
