Ruben Amorim’s men bag three points after a dominant display!
Atalanta BC had a visit to the San Siro Stadium for their seventh matchweek contest of the Serie A 2026-27 campaign. They battled it out against AC Milan in what became an exciting fixture.
The Rossoneri had control of the game from the very beginning and this is what made things easier for them. They did not allow many chances to their opponents and constantly built pressure on La Dea. The Ruben Amorim-led side did very well in the final third. They are now in fourth place on the Serie A table and will be looking to push for the league title.
Atalanta BC suffered a defeat once again and were completely outplayed by Milan. They failed to contain their opponents due to a poor performance in defence. Maurizio Sarri’s men could’ve come up with a better approach in the final third, but lacked urgency in the final third.
Biggest lessons from AC Milan vs Atalanta:
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
1. High gear by AC Milan’s attack
This was hands down one of the best attacking displays by AC Milan in the Serie A this season. They scored two goals in the first half itself and came up with a lot of pressure on their opponents. Ruben Amorim’s men got to a three-goal lead in the second half and it was quite enough for them to secure three points.
2. Atalanta struggle early on
La Dea conceded two goals early on in the game. They failed to match AC Milan’s intensity and were down by three goals in the second half. Atalanta BC failed to control the ball and their performance in defence was quite underwhelming. Maurizio Sarri’s men will be looking to fix this issue, or it is going to make things tougher for them.
3. Strong midfield control by Rossoneri
Ruben Amorim’s side displayed strong control of the tempo since the beginning of the game. Their performance in the midfield has to be really appreciated out there. Adrien Rabiot, Luka Modric and Yunus Musah did a great job of breaking up plays and setting up chances for their fellow teammates in the attacking front.
4. Adrien Rabiot continues to impress for Milan
The Frenchman doubled the lead for AC Milan after an important goal in the 43rd minute. He later secured a crucial assist in the second half. Adrien Rabiot was named Player of the Match for his sensational performance. He looks in great touch and will continue to play a crucial part both in the midfield and attacking front for the Rossoneri.
5. Tactical discipline helped Ruben Amorim’s men
After having a comfortable three-goal cushion, AC Milan barely managed to secure three points. Atalanta refused to give up despite trailing by three goals. A late resurgence by the visitors exposed weaknesses in Milan’s ability to manage a substantial lead.
Strahinja Pavlović, Koni De Winter, Mario Gila and Fikayo Tomori did a great job, especially in holding the opposition in the final six minutes. The Rossoneri have three points in their bag, but must come up with a better strategy next time around.
