The Blues delivered a professional performance against the team from Maldives.
The Indian Super League outfit Bengaluru FC played their AFC Cup Qualifier against Club Eagles on 15 August 2021. The one-time ISL champions won by a solitary goal scored by debutant Jayesh Rane. The Blues were comfortable for most part of the game, but could have done better than score only one goal.
There were several debutants to observe under the new leadership of tactician Marco Pezzaiuoli. Bengaluru FC were stronger on-paper and did look the part on the pitch as well against Club Eagles. The individual brilliance and a strong showing from the domestic midfielders ensured their march into the main draw of the AFC Cup.

Having said that, here are the ratings for Bengaluru FC players from the AFC Cup 2021 Qualifier against Club Eagles:
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu - 6.5
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu secured a clean-sheet on the night. However, the Bengaluru FC and Indian international shot-stopper was barely tested by the opposition and he marshalled his troops well otherwise. A comfortable night for the custodian.
Sarthak Golui - 7.0
Sarthak Golui was playing his first match for his new employers and looked at ease in the first half. His long throw from the right flank led to the opening goal of the match. He was otherwise solid in defence and looks to have confirmed a place in the starting lineup.
Alan Costa - 7.5
Alan Costa looked very comfortable in the first half on his debut for the Blues. He was calm in distributing the ball from the back and comfortable in dealing with aerial crosses. The defender seems a good addition to the squad.
Yrondu Musavu-King - 8.0
Yrondu Musavu-King was exceptional for BFC in the heart of defence. The Gabonese led the backline with aplomb and did not look uncomfortable during the game. He was firm in his tackling and read the game beautifully. The centre-back also had a couple of attempts on goal in set-piece situations.
Ashique Kuruniyan - 6.5
Ashique Kuruniyan played in the left-back position. The winger/full-back was a threat from the left flank and often tried to exploit spaces with his speed and dribbling ability. Kuruniyan took several knocks during the game. He was taken off in the 73rd minute as he could not continue due to an injury.

Udanta Singh - 6.0
Udanta Singh played more advanced than usual, something more along the lines to his abilities. Marco Pezzaiuoli hoped the winger could trouble the opposition with his pace. However, his contribution was lukewarm at best, as he created only a handful of opportunities for the strikers.
Jayesh Rane - 8.0
The debutant scored the opening goal of the game by brilliantly latching on to a long throw inside the box. The low shot into the bottom corner gave his team the lead on the night. He was also very impressive in midfield, putting in an industrious display.
Rohit Kumar - 7.5
Rohit Kumar was making his debut as well on the night. He took his place in the heart of midfield and was impressive there. The former KBFC player showed good physical capability to win duels and kept the ball rolling while in possession. He was very vigilant in closing down spaces and kept the attackers on their toes.
Suresh Singh Wangjam - 7.0
Suresh Singh Wangjam is emerging as a great box-to-box midfielder. He loves to get forward and did the same tonight against Club Eagles. He was forward-thinking with his passes and an extremely hard worker off the ball. The youngster is proving to be a vital player in the starting lineup for the Blues.
Sunil Chhetri - 7.0
Sunil Chhetri could have had two assists in the match. He was astute in finding his teammates in better scoring positions. A cross in the first half to Cleiton Silva and a layoff to Augustin in the second-half both went begging. Chhetri did not have clear scoring opportunities himself and looked a bit off the pace.

Cleiton Silva - 6.5
The Brazilian striker had a couple of shots on target in the first half. He cut a frustrated figure as the match went on due to lack of clear scoring opportunities falling his way. Furthermore, defenders of Club Eagles marked him closely, which did not allow him time on the ball.

Substitutions
Roshan Singh Naorem - 6.0
Roshan Singh Naorem came on as a replacement for Ashique Kuruniyan. The defender was solid and did his duties well whenever called upon.
Bidyashagar Singh - 6.0
Last season’s I-League top scorer made his debut after coming on in the 83rd minute for Cleiton Silva. As the team was playing on the back foot, Bidyashagar did not get clear scoring opportunities in his cameo.
Leon Augustine - 6.5
Missed a great opportunity with his first touch to score the second goal of the match. His shot from inside the box went narrowly above the bar.
Danish Farooq - NA
Came on too late to make a difference.
