“We are committed to encouraging more Kerala players and this would be great exposure for them. Our aim is to win the AFC Club Championship this time. Last time, we were not able to win it. This year, we have a strong squad and we hope we can win it,” said VC Praveen, the Gokulam Kerala FC club president.

The team will be travelling to Uzbekistan on Monday evening.

Last year Gokulam Kerala had finished third in the inaugural AFC Women's Club Championship. They lose two and won one, with the victory coming against Bunyodkor in their final match.
