According to Sky Sports, Italian head coach Simone Inzaghi has no ambitions to build around the experienced French striker Karim Benzema, and the club are already looking to recruit his successor from the English Premier League.
To make room for a new striker, Al-Hilal are considering terminating Benzema’s contract, which is set to expire next summer. According to the report, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins is the main candidate to succeed the Frenchman.

Karim Benzema has requested his entire compensation for the last season of his contract if Al-Hilal pull the plug. Neither the club’s management nor the league are willing to give it, and discussions between the parties have become increasingly tense as a consequence.
That is why breaking the connection is so tough right now, despite Al-Hilal’s desire to do it as soon as possible in order to register a new striker.
The 38-year-old joined Al-Hilal from opponents Al-Ittihad in a massive transfer last February. His future is nothing but secure now, barely months into his life with the new coach.
However, the signing of the Aston Villa forward cannot proceed until the Benzema scenario is settled. Therefore, Karim Benzema’s departure is a top priority for Al-Hilal, but maybe not for the other parties involved in the transaction.
Benzema scored a penalty in Al-Hilal’s 4-2 victory over Al-Faisaly on the first weekend of the Saudi Pro League, but his irritation was evident when he was replaced in the 70th minute. The scenario did little to dispel the rumours regarding his relationship with the coaching staff.
