The Green forward has been terrific in the UCL.

There is a new and perhaps surprising top scorer in the UEFA Champions League. With six goals in just four games, Como attacker Anastasios Douvikas has spectacularly grabbed the lead in the Champions League 2026-27 scoring race.

On Wednesday, November 4, the 27-year-old Greek attacker outperformed some of the greatest names in European football with an incredible hat-trick against French team Lens.

When it came to Lens, Douvikas was just unstoppable. The Greek attacker doubled his tally in the 32nd minute after opening the scoring in the seventh minute. In the 57th minute, he completed his hat-trick, making the evening a personal showcase. Additionally, he assisted Nico Paz’s goal in the 40th minute.

Surprisingly, Douvikas has scored in each of this season’s UCL games. The striker has already scored once against Manchester United, RB Leipzig, and Feyenoord before his hat-trick against Lens.

His six goals put him ahead of the chasing pack, which includes Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Raphinha and several other players.

Anastasios Douvikas profile

Greek professional footballer Anastasios Douvikas is a centre-forward for Como 1907 and represents the Greece national team. He has established himself as a vital player in Como’s attack because of his cunning movement within the penalty area and clinical poaching skills.

Before moving to Italy, Anastasios Douvikas enjoyed a steady rise through European football. He made headlines at Volos with an 11-goal season that attracted the interest of foreign scouts as he started his professional top-flight career in Greece.

He made his mark on Dutch football by finishing as the Eredivisie’s joint-top scorer with 19 goals in the 2022-23 season. After moving to LaLiga to sign for Celta Vigo, he made significant contributions as a forward and scored important goals in both domestic and Copa del Rey games.

In February 2025, he relocated to Como for €14 million. He had an instant effect, leading the team to European qualification with 14 Serie A goals in his first half-season. He signed a long-term contract that would keep him with the team until June 2031 after his pivotal efforts.

Anastasios Douvikas’ playing style

Anastasios “Tasos” Douvikas is a contemporary, extremely clinical centre forward who blends rapid movement off the ball with brutal effectiveness in the penalty box. He currently leads the line for Cesc Fàbregas’ Como team and is more of a roaming No. 9 than a fixed target man.
