Thomas Tuchel’s men were down by an early goal from DR Congo. Harry Kane came up with a brace in the final quarter of the fixture. Both of the goals were assisted by Anthony Gordon, who came in from the bench at the 60th minute. He became the first player to record two assists as a substitute in a World Cup knockout stage match.

This game was nothing short of an entertaining contest. The Englishmen were looking to secure a spot in the FIFA World Cup 2026 semifinals. They were down by a goal in the first half and Jude Bellingham came to the rescue with an equaliser. Anthony Gordon was in the right place at the right time to set up Bellingham in the final third.
