Antonela Roccuzzo, Lionel Messi’s wife, has stepped into her own stardom.
As the couple’s three children grow older, Roccuzzo pursues her own business interests. She and a cousin co-founded Enfans, a children’s apparel line. Roccuzzo also collaborates with Alo, an athletic brand; Tiffany; Lancome; and Anastasia Beverly Hills, a cosmetics brand.
“It’s important to do things for yourself,” Roccuzzo said in an interview with Elle magazine earlier this year.
“It was hard, and it still is. I don’t always enjoy it. But I have my husband’s support, and that is very important. If I didn’t have that support, I don’t think I would be fully doing this.”
“I’m very shy and this is very new,” she added. “No one knows my voice. I don’t speak. Even doing this interview is new for me. So with time, I am starting to be more confident about myself and more secure in myself.”
How Antonela Roccuzzo met Lionel Messi
Roccuzzo and Messi were both raised in Rosario, Argentina. They met through her cousin Lucas Scaglia. Scaglia was one of Messi’s teammates at his youth club, Newell’s Old Boys.
Roccuzzo and Messi remained in touch when Messi moved to FC Barcelona when he was 13. Though it’s unclear when they started dating, Messi stated he had a girlfriend in 2009.
Roccuzzo relocated to Barcelona the next year. The couple got married in 2017 in Rosario.

Roccuzzo holds a degree in humanities and social sciences from the National University of Rosario. She pursued her dream of becoming a dentist and attended graduate school.
She left the program after a year, since she realised she didn’t want to be a dentist. She is now an entrepreneur, having co-founded Enfans, a children’s apparel line, with her cousin, and serves as a brand ambassador for numerous others. She defines herself as a “Digital creator” on her Instagram feed, which has over 41.4 million followers.
