Arsenal vs Borussia Dortmund: Full lineups confirmed for pre-season friendly

The Emirates Cup will go to the winner of the Arsenal vs Borussia Dortmund clash.

Arsenal are set to host Borussia Dortmund in a pre-season friendly fixture at the Emirates Stadium in London on Sunday, August 9. The winner of tonight’s match will lift the pre-season Emirates Cup trophy.

The home side have enjoyed a good run in this competition, winning the last four editions. The Gunners opened their pre-season campaign with a dominant 4-1 win over Girona, with young Max Dowman scoring a goal and setting up another. However, a 3-1 loss to Real Betis in the next game stopped their momentum.

Borussia Dortmund, too, have failed to sustain their form in the pre-season fixtures. Niko Kovac’s men began with a 3-1 win over Rot-Weiss Oberhausen, followed by a 2-1 loss to Fortuna Dusseldorf. BVB then lost 1-0 to Cerezo Osaka before beating FC Tokyo by the same margin in their tour of Japan.

With a match against Bayern Munich coming up in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, Dortmund will look to test their squad against the current Premier League holders in tonight’s fixture.
