Another landmark move took place in Indian football, as Mohun Bagan officially merged with ATK in an announcement made this afternoon. Founded in 1889, its association with the two-time ISL champions comes as a remarkable decision taken with respect to the integration of one of the most prominent Indian clubs into the top football league of the country. RPSG Group will now become the 80% majority stakeholder with the Mohun Bagan Football Club (India) Private Limited owning the rest 20% of the shares. This new amalgamation would come into existence from 1 June 2020 and it would compete in the Indian Super League from next season. It will also include the brand names of both the clubs.
