All the goals in the final were scored by foreigners for the first time in history.

In the battle between the duo of the two-time winners of the competition, ATK emerged victors by a 3-1 scoreline against a rampant Chennaiyin FC. The Marina Machans bombarded their way through the second part of the season to make it to the final, but were unable to get over the final challenge of the Kolkata outfit.

Despite the first half injury to Roy Krishna, the man who setup the opener, the those in red and white were able to pick up the vital victory and secure the Indian Super League title.

ATK

Arindam Bhattacharya- 7.5

The ATK shot-stopper wasn’t overly troubled in the first half, as the side from Kolkata were in the ascendancy. Made multiple smart stops in the second period, as Chennaiyin came out strong.

Pritam Kotal- 6.0

One of the three centre-halves for ATK, Pritam Kotal put in a fairly solid shift at the back for most of the night. Tracked back well, but should’ve probably blocked the ball that led to the Chennaiyin goal.

Sumit Rathi- 6.5

Like his defensive partners, the Indian put in a composed display at the back all through the first half and then went on to do the necessary in the second period. Looked confident with the ball at his feet.

Prabir Das- 7.0

The full-back got forward quite a bit in the first half and even put in a couple of decent balls, but he just seemed to lack the final delivery. Miscommunication for the Chennaiyin goal.

Michael Regin- 6.5

The midfielder was substituted in the second half, as the Marina Machans began to apply the pressure. Played some neat passes out from midfield and was composed in possession as well.

Michael Soosairaj- 7.5

The speedster was arguably the best Indian player on the pitch, as he gave the Chennaiyin defenders a pretty hard time in the first half. Maintained a similar threat in the second period as well.

Substitutes

Pronay Halder- 7.0

The Indian international defensive midfielder was brought on, as Antonio Habas looked to add a little more mettle to his team’s core. Provided a special ball for Hernandez to complete his brace.

Chennaiyin FC

Vishal Kaith- 7.0

The Chennaiyin FC shot-stopper made multiple key saves over the course of the 90, but decidedly, wasn’t able to keep out the three ATK goals. Didn’t make any mistakes apart from the goals.

Laldinliana Renthlei- 6.0

Was given an extremely tough time defensively by the ATK attackers in the first half, but came back stronger in the second period. Could’ve probably worked harder going forward.

Jerry Lalrianzuala- 7.0

The youngster tried to dash forward whenever the opportunities presented themselves and it was his ball into the area that led to the lone Chennaiyin goal on the night.

Germanpreet Singh- N/A

The midfielder was forced to come off with an injury within the first half and was replaced by Edwin Vanspaul.

Anirudh Thapa- 6.0

The diminutive midfield creator barely got into the game and he struggled have any sort of impact in an attacking sense. Tried to get forward in the second half, but showed a lack of conviction.

Lallianzuala Chhangte- 7.0

The speedster tried to influence the result with his directness in the final third, but wasn’t able to pierce through the ATK defence more than once. Was forced to do a lot of defending as well.

Substitutes

Edwin Vanspaul- 6.0

The Indian midfielder was brought on in the first half after Germanpreet had to come off injured. Played some good passes forward, but never really created anything meaningful.
