Atletico Madrid will be gearing up for a face-off against Bayern Munich for their fourth league phase fixture of the UEFA Champions League 2026-27 campaign. Riyadh Air Metropolitano is all set to witness this high-voltage clash.
The Diego Simeone-led side are doing really well when it comes to the domestic competitions but have only secured one win in their first three UCL games of the season. They were held to a 1-1 draw by VfB Stuttgart in their last outing. Los Colchoneros will now be looking to get back to winning ways in the European competition.
They are going to be the hosts in their upcoming contest. This will be one of the advantages for them. Atletico Madrid must control the game from the start to take advantage.
Vincent Kompany’s team have now secured back-to-back draws in the UEFA Champions League. They were held to a 3-3 draw by Viking FK and then to a 2-2 draw by the Premier League champions, Arsenal. The Bavarians have only secured one win in the UCL this season and will now be looking for their second one.
Bayern Munich will be away from home. But with the strong squad, they are likely to have an edge over the hosts.
Players to Watch
Giuliano Simeone (Atletico Madrid)
Giuliano Simeone is going to be one of the main men for the Atletico Madrid squad. With his fast pace, he can dictate the tempo on the right flank. The Argentine scored one of the goals for his side in their recent 2-0 win against Levante in La Liga. He will be eager to help Atleti in the UCL now.
Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)
The Ballon d’Or winner is all set to lead Bayern Munich’s attack. He will be looking to step up his game as Michael Olise is likely to miss out due to a knee issue. Deployed as the sole striker, Harry Kane can threaten the opponent’s defence and is also very capable of pressing back when it comes to helping his side in the backline.
