The Junior Colts form part of the four team event…
Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense will host an international Under-17 tournament next month. The 4-team event which will be staged in Brazil from 10-December will feature the hosts alongside, Orlando City and the U-17 national teams from India and Uruguay. Under the format each team will play three games ahead of the semi-finals followed by the Final and a third/fourth place match. After the league games the top team will play the fourth placed team, while second meets third. The matches will be played at the Atletico Paranaense Stadium with the tournament kicking off on 10th December and the Final on the 18th. With each team guaranteed five matches, the event is seen as yet more valuable preparation for the Junior Colts ahead of next year’s U-17 FIFA World Cup to be hosted in the country. "The idea of the tournament came from the confirmation of the arrival of the U-17 team from India to CAT Alfredo Gottardi, through an agreement signed in November 2014 with the All India Football Federation, which is the Indian federation, "said Luiz Greco, Director of International Relations, CAP. "In addition to India, we thought of having a South American team representing the continent [involved in the World Cup], as well as the organizers, as well as Orlando City, our partner," added Greco.
