This trophy is awarded to the best striker of the season.
Alongside the Ballon d’Or, the Gerd Müller Trophy has grown to be one of the most prestigious honours given to soccer’s most prolific goal scorers, honouring their season-long accomplishments.
The trophy, which was first given out in 2021, pays tribute to German striker Gerd Müller and honours the players who end the season with the most official goals for their clubs and national teams.
This award is determined by scoring statistics, in contrast to the regular Ballon d’Or. This makes it a unique component of the event, focusing on objectives rather than individual rankings or voting preferences. Big stars have been honoured with this award.
