The Catalan team will now begin their preparation for the new season.
When the 2026/27 season begins, Barcelona will be striving for their third LaLiga title in a row.
They will be back at the Camp Nou again. They will be looking to improve on their quarter-final performance in last season’s UEFA Champions League, which they lost to Atletico Madrid on aggregate.
Led by Hansi Flick, they have a lot of talent on their roster. Teenage wonder Lamine Yamal is only growing better, capturing the prestigious FIFA World Cup title at the age of 19.
The winning Spanish squad included eight Barca players, while a total of 16 players competed in the World Cup. As a result, their pre-season may get off to a sluggish start. Those 16 players will gradually work their way back into the team.
After facing Birmingham City, they will play a brief set of 45-minute matches against Nottingham Forest and Udinese.
Their match against Al Ahly has yet to be confirmed. It will most likely conclude their preseason before they begin their LaLiga campaign against Elche.
With so many Barca players being on World Cup duty, it’s no wonder that only a few have returned to training yet. Having said that, Flick has invited 15 players from the B-team and Under-19 squads to attend first-team training. It notably includes their next wonderkid, 17-year-old Jordi Pesquer.
Yamal, Raphinha, Dani Olmo, and Pedri will all return after they have healed from their World Cup heroics; however, Marcus Rashford does not look to be returning to Spain. Barca have not exercised their buy option on the Manchester United star.
However, Anthony Gordon, who signed from Newcastle United, will guarantee that there is still an English star on display.
