The midfielder asked to be subbed off in the game against Villa.
After their outstanding UEFA Champions League performance against Aston Villa on Tuesday night, FC Barcelona were given a serious injury scare. Hansi Flick was left waiting anxiously after midfielder Rodri was pulled off early. This weekend, they have a pivotal home match against Atletico Madrid.
Rodri Hernández will undergo medical testing, said Hansi Flick, following his physical pain during Barcelona’s game against Aston Villa.
Late in the first half of Barcelona’s 3-0 Champions League triumph over Aston Villa, Rodri asked to be substituted. In order to stop more harm, the medical personnel withdrew the 30-year-old during the break when he complained of soreness in his right hamstring.
Due to the player’s physical exhaustion, the German manager decided to replace the midfielder with Marc Bernal at halftime.
