Barcelona have been the more consistent side in LaLiga, winning all nine matches before this fixture. Their attack has been led by Raphinha, who has scored 12 league goals, while Lamine Yamal has provided an additional creative threat from the right flank. Barca will need to manage their defensive absences after conceding four goals against PSG in midweek.
Real Madrid have won seven of their nine league matches and remain within reach of the leaders. Kylian Mbappé has scored nine league goals and will be central to their attacking plans.
However, Vinícius Júnior’s suspension removes a major option from their forward line. Madrid will look to Mbappé, Jude Bellingham and Arda Güler to provide the attacking threat.
Both teams arrive after midweek European action. Barcelona lost 4-2 away to Paris Saint-Germain, while Real Madrid beat RB Leipzig 4-1. Barca will look to maintain their perfect league record, while Los Blancos aim to close the gap at the top.
Players to watch out for
Lamine Yamal (Barcelona)
Yamal has been a key part of Barcelona’s attack, contributing goals and creating chances from the right wing. His ability to beat defenders and deliver passes into the penalty area could be important against Madrid’s defence.
Yamal has recorded 14 goal contributions in nine league appearances, averaging more than one goal contribution per match. He scored and assisted in Barcelona’s 5-2 win over Real Betis on October 17.
Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)
Bellingham will be important in linking Madrid’s midfield and attack. His late runs into the box and ability to create opportunities could help the visitors challenge Barcelona’s defence.
Bellingham has six goal contributions in nine league appearances. He provided an assist in Real Madrid’s 4-1 victory over Sevilla on October 18, making his midfield movement and ability to create chances important factors ahead of El Clásico.
