The attacker fell to the ground unconscious.
Bayern Munich chief Max Eberl says Jamal Musiala is recovering well after falling on Saturday. The German international was involved in a worrisome incident during Bayern’s Telekom Cup match against RB Leipzig, when he collapsed in the closing minutes of the 3-1 victory.
Musiala was introduced by Vincent Kompany late in the friendly against Leipzig, but he collapsed barely 15 minutes later and was replaced.
According to reports, the dizzying heat in Bavaria contributed to the scary experience for the 23-year-old, who was allowed to walk away following treatment.
The event occurred in the closing phases of the game, three minutes after the German team scored, when Musiala began to stumble with no one behind him.
Bayern Munich chief updates on Jamal Musiala’s incident

Ismael Saibari was one of the first players on the scene, before his Bayern colleagues and medical personnel came to Jamal Musiala’s aid. According to BILD, the midfielder grew disoriented while playing in temperatures around 33 degrees, which caused circulation issues.
Eberl said: “The most important thing is that he is well. There’s nothing more to say about anything else.”
Jamal Musiala fractured his leg during Bayern’s Club World Cup match against Paris Saint-Germain last summer and returned to Bundesliga play in early 2026. He was an important player for Germany in the World Cup 2026, but Julian Nagelsmann’s team was unexpectedly ousted in the round of 32 by Paraguay.
Bayern will face Heidenheim in their next practice match as part of their preparations for the upcoming season, which begins on August 22 with a German Super Cup clash against Borussia Dortmund.
