The Bayern Munich vs Aston Villa clash will end the Asia tour for both sides.
Bayern Munich will take on UEFA Europa League champions Aston Villa in an exciting pre-season friendly fixture at the Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong on Friday, August 7.
Unai Emery’s Villa had a superb campaign last season, finishing fourth in the Premier League and winning the second-tier continental tournament. Despite losing key players such as Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers, the Villans have carried their form into the pre-season.
They started their Asian campaign with a 3-1 win over Indonesia All Stars at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta. That was followed by a 3-1 win over Thailand’s BG Pathum United on Tuesday.
Bayern, on the other hand, suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against third-division side SV Wehen Wiesbaden. However, the German giants followed it up with a 15-0 thrashing of amateur side FC Rottach-Egern.
Die Roten will play one more friendly after the Bayern Munich vs Aston Villa match before they face Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup on August 22.
