Luis Norton de Matos joins Royal Antwerp Reserves
The former Portuguese international coached the Indian team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Former Indian Arrows manager Luis Norton de Matos has joined Royal Antwerp FC as their new reserves coach, according to Gazet van Antwerpen. Just a month or so after leaving his post as the coach of the Indian Arrows, the Portuguese coach didn't seem to need much time to "recuperating from his health issues" and has almost instantly found a job to manage the reserve side of the Belgian outfit.
Matos will be assisted in his job by Ken Bastin and Sven van den Broeck and will be aiming to develop the reserve or youth players in the team. This is certain to surprise some Indian fans, as after revealing that his health wasn't allowing him to continue working as Arrows coach, it's quite a perplexing move for Matos to restart his managerial career so soon.
The Portuguese gaffer worked in India for well over a year and was the coach who helped the India U-17 national team perform valiantly at the FIFA U-17 World Cup last year. He also seemed to handle the Indian Arrows side really well and despite playing against all the odds, Matos made sure that they gave a tough fight to the much "superior" teams in the I-League.

[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]The daunting task of managing Royal Antwerp's reserve side won't faze Matos much because of his experience in management spanning many years. Apart from managing the youth teams in India, he has also worked with Benfica B and with the national team of Guinea-Bissau.
Floyd Pinto was the man named as successor to Matos by the All India Football Federation recently and he'll be in-charge of the Indian Arrows side next season. Pinto was a trusted advisor to Matos and years of experience in the Indian game have helped him land the role, to ensure that the development of these talented players continues smoothly.
