Billionaire DAMAC founder emerges as potential Manchester United investor - Report

The Glazers are looking to sell the club’s remaining shares.

Members of the Glazer family are apparently contemplating their future at Manchester United, with talks underway about potentially selling some or all of their remaining ownership.

Talks started among individual family members before broadening, with some hoping to rally the family behind a larger exodus.

The revelations follow rumours from earlier this summer that the family was aggressively considering its options after more than two decades in power of the Premier League team.

Middle Eastern speculation in the Premier League’s powerhouses has revived. Speculation is on a prominent investor associated with DAMAC Properties, the Dubai-based real estate conglomerate founded by billionaire Hussain Sajwani.

With a reported net worth of $15.3 billion, Sajwani is one of just a few private investors with the financial resources to bankroll a purchase of United’s magnitude. There is presently no public confirmation of any official proposal.

Manchester United now have a divided ownership structure. Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS firm currently has a minority stake of slightly under 29 per cent.

INEOS has taken over the club’s football operations. However, the Glazer family remains the primary stakeholder and maintains substantial voting power.

According to the most recent sources, the Glazers are not necessarily in agreement on the possibility of a full sale. The club’s massive worth remains a big factor.

Nonetheless, fresh Middle Eastern interest, paired with negotiations inside the Glazer family, might mark a significant shift in Manchester United’s long-running ownership crisis.

For the time being, no official buyout proposal has been made public. Possible investors are keeping an eye on the situation. Meanwhile, the Glazers weigh their options at Old Trafford.
